Join us for a Service of Celebration the evening of June 10th at 6pm as we celebrate the ministry of Pastor Bob Welch.

Pastor Robert (Bob) Welch came to Immanuel January 3, 1983 as Immanuel's first full-time Music and Worship Pastor. Bob and Nancy came with their two young children, Aaron and Kirsten. At that time, Immanuel's congregation worshipped in the gym while waiting for our worship center to be constructed. Through 29 years of Music Ministry, Bob developed the ministry of our worship choir, orchestra, ensembles and led the oversight of the worship center support teams and music staff. Seasonal concerts were added as the music ministry grew. The Easter Pageants and Christmas Concerts are well known and respected in our community and have been a tool for bringing many to Immanuel for the first time and making many spiritual decisions.

The personal commitment to excellence in music presentations and passionate, congregational worship has reached the hearts of many and we are excited to honor and to thank Bob and Nancy Welch at this SPECIAL CELEBRATION SERVICE, June 10, 6pm.

A reception in the Atrium will immediately follow.

DRAMA MINISTRY

IBC Players (It's Because of Christ)
Our mission is to bring glory to God by communicating the Word of God and the Love of God to believers and unbelievers through the medium of drama. IBC Players is a fine arts outreach of Immanuel Bible Church, dedicated to presenting the Word of God. We seek to glorify and lift Him up before all the people through a wide variety of dramatic presentations. In conjunction with the Music and Worship Ministry, we desire to be a dramatic arts resource in Northern Virginia and the EAst Coast Region.

How You Can Serve
There are many areas where you can be of service in this exciting ministry. Several include:

  • Acting
  • Script reading and/or writing
  • Technical and artistic support (including costuming, makeup, lights, sound, set and props construction)
  • House and Stage-Managing
  • Production and Publicity

Christmas - Along with the choir and orchestra, we provide drama to create a worshipful Christmas Pageant.

Easter - This is the IBC Players' largest effort of the year. Again, with choir and orchestra, and the church at large, we work to offer a dramatic picture of who Jesus Christ is, leading the audience and all participants to a deeper understanding of their faith.

Outreach Theater - Through Dessert Theater, Readers Theater, and special worship presentations, we seek to reach out to the unbeliever.

Ministry Support - As time and resources permit, the IBC Players support Immanuel Ministries with drama presentations, assisting pastors, teachers, and others as they present the person and work of Jesus Christ.
