Tim and Elyssa Pinkard

Tim and Elyssa Pinkard
Tim writes that he was fortunate to grow up in a Christian home, noting that his parents were great examples as they modeled sacrifice, commitment and consistency. He accepted Christ on Palm Sunday, 1978 in Sunday school at four years old. The years attending Sunday school helped to lay the foundation of his understanding of Christianity. In the summer of 1987 Tim had the opportunity to go on a short-term missions trip to the Dominican Republic with Youth for Christ International. It was a good introduction into serving as a “missionary” for a fourteen year old, and for the fi rst time he realized his need to be dependent on God. He was baptized later that same year at Immanuel Bible Church in Springfield, VA.

Tim had served as a Student Ministries Intern and Campus Director at Immanuel during the '90s, and as an Area Representative for Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Denver, Colorado. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from East Carolina University, Greenville, NC., and is completing a Masters of Divinity, Denver Seminary, Littleton, Co. He is a chaplain candidate with the United States Army Reserve. Tim and Elyssa were married in June 2002 and live in the Springfield area.
