Korean Fellowship at Immanuel Bible Church

Korean Version (한국어) >>

Welcome! Thank you very much for visiting the website of the Korean Fellowship at Immanuel Bible Church. The Korean Fellowship started in 2007 as an active response to the increasing need for bilingual ministries for ethnic Koreans at IBC. Our goal is to more effectively meet the spiritual and cultural needs for international-marriage couples, multi-generation immigrant families, students, and others who attend IBC and speak Korean as their native language. The Fellowship helps these individuals develop their sense of belonging and confidence within a linguistically and culturally homogeneous group and encourages them to grow further and play an active role in expanding the Kingdom of God in collaboration with the main congregation of Immanuel. In an age of ‘Globalization’, the Korean Fellowship encourages its members to redefine their roles and step out of their ethnic boundary and proactively reach out to other ethnic communities and spread the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.

Vision & Goals

The Korean Fellowship, being a ministry of Immanuel Bible Church, shares its vision: “Building believers to the Glory of God who Seek Him Constantly, Serve Him Faithfully, and Share Him Boldly.” In particular, the Fellowship takes its bilingual and multicultural environment as a valuable asset in reaching out and spreading the Gospel to many different ethnic groups in the region. Some specific goals of the Fellowship are as follows:

  • To help meet the spiritual and cultural needs of ethnic Koreans at IBC through worship, Bible studies, training, fellowship, and other ministry programs in the Korean language.
  • Encourage and assist Korean members to actively participate in the educational programs and ministry activities of the church,
  • Witness the Gospel to the international families and Korean immigrants who are bilingual and reside in the region,
  • Witness the Gospel to the other ethnic communities, especially the unreached minorities, in the Washington, DC area, and
  • Become a good example for others in serving and faith with the diligent and fervent spirit handed down from the early Korean believers.
