Community Groups
Adult Bible Fellowships (ABF’s) are the “backbone” of the Immanuel body. Collectively, ABF members touch nearly every other ministry within Immanuel. Beyond their core ministry of the Word, Fellowship, and Prayer, ABF’s respond to the call when organized acts of service are needed. They are larger communities from which Small Groups often develop. It is in an ABF that you will hear an update from missionaries, pray for one another during times of turmoil, and share victories based on God’s Word. ABF’s become the place where you meet and enjoy time with your best friends. ABF’s are where church becomes family.
Highlights From Some of the Fellowships:
- ABF’s regularly celebrated the Lord’s Supper in the more intimate setting of their classrooms.
- Several ABF’s regularly served our community by visiting the Central Union Mission, Aarondale, and the Sunrise Assisted Living facilities, holding worship services there.
Small Groups—In a recent survey, we counted 119 adult and young adult small groups, meeting here at Immanuel and in our homes. Serving multiple purposes and comprising various affinities, our small groups meet for Bible study, discipleship, accountability, fellowship, evangelism, training in marriage and parenting, prayer, worship, encouragement, and life support. Many small groups are sponsored by ABF’s allowing for our elders to better shepherd the flock of God.
