SPRING 2012 CLASSES

ANSWERS IN GENESIS
(for adults and students 6th grade & up)

12 weeks, beginning January 29
Instructors: Jim Smithers / Trevor Specht

Utilizing the updated 2011 12-part DVD series "Answers in Genesis" by Ken Ham, this course will provide a powerful foundational defense of the authority of scripture through the creationist viewpoint. It will address: The relevance of Genesis, historical interpretation of Scripture, evolution, fossils, the Flood, and the theological consequences of an evolutionary interpretation/worldview.

Bonus Hour 6-7pm: Creation Science “Deep Dive” - Following the Answers in Genesis discussion, Jim and Trevor will introduce expanded scientific material relative to creation science and will cover topics including carbon and radiometric dating, starlight and time, the human genome project/DNA, biblical geology and more.

THE ART OF MARRIAGE

It uses both gripping and humorous testimonies and vignettes to teach you the art of investing in love for a lifetime. This course is for married and engaged couples of any age.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Although there is no charge for IBI adult elective courses, your registration will ensure adequate copies of texts for you to purchase in the Immanuel Bookstore on the first Sunday of classes. (Textbooks are not included as part of your registration.)  Course notes will be supplied as part of the course.

ABOUT OUR INSTRUCTORS

Jim Smithers works for the Department of Defense as a Finance Manager.  He has a passion for apologetics and equipping parents and their children to defend their faith.
Trevor Specht works for the Navy as an Electrical Engineer in their space sciences division.  In church he encourages Christians to carefully examine the evidence for creation often lost in a sea of secular thought.
Keith Morgan is on the staff of Military Ministry, where he and his wife Sharon minister to military families.
Tom Joyce is the Pastor of Discipleship and Family at Immanuel Bible Church.
